Five Quick Tips About Jogging

Jogging is a great way to get fit, lose weight and tone leg muscles, so it’s little wonder this is a well-liked type of exercise.  Whilst it’s a popular way for people to get fit, jogging can also be a little intimidating at first, in the early days, this will be a shock to your system, especially if you haven’t taken part in any form of physical exercise for a while.

To make this easier for you, here are five of the hottest jogging tips, use them and you’ll be an expert runner in no time.

1.) Get kitted out

Before you start jogging make sure you are kitted out with the right equipment. One of the wisest investments you can make is a good quality pair of running shoes, don’t buy budget trainers, look for shoes that have comfort soles, and pick a pair specially designed for sporting activities such as jogging.

2.) Feel comfortable

Once you choose your running shoes consider the type of jogging garments you want to wear. Ideally select breathable garments that help to wick moisture away from your body and choose comfortable clothing that won’t chaff your skin when you start to sweat.  We stock a great selection of jogging garments at Superlogo.

3.) Find a running buddy

Running solo is boring. Go jogging on your own and you are more likely to quit. If possible, buddy up with a pal or join a running club where you’ll meet people just like you, novices that want to get fit! Running with somebody else spurs you on and it makes this type of exercise slightly more bearable.

4.) Create a programme

Build a fitness programme from scratch and don’t expect miracles. Start off gradually, you can walk for a bit at first then run for a while, alternating between the two activities and gradually building the amount of time you spend running as your fitness levels improve.

5.) Give your body time

It takes weeks for the body to acclimatise to jogging. People get frustrated when they start to feel fatigued, quite often they feel drained and can’t understand why improvements aren’t being made. Allow up to six weeks to really start noticing significant differences. You will have to go through the pain and exhaustion barriers but it’ll be worth it in the end.
